🗞️News:
Duco introduces AI-native data prep and Agentic Rule Builder
Enterprise data automation platform Duco has announced the launch of Agentic Rule Builder, its next step in no-code automation. According to Duco, these agents can convert a plain English prompt into a Natural Rule Language (NRL) rule that can be validated, edited, and applied by operations teams for consistent changes across multiple rules. In addition, Duco has introduced, building on Adaptive Intelligent Document Processing (AIDP), enhanced AI-native data prep by extending flexible ingestion, enabling low training extraction for faster set up, and also integrating the Agentic Rule Builder into the solution. Justin Hingorani, Managing Director, AI and Data Prep at Duco, explained: “AI-powered automation is moving beyond task support to shape how businesses operate. This evolution is not just about speed or efficiency. It is about empowering organisations to respond to client needs and market challenges with agility and confidence. Intelligent automation and industry know-how turn complex post-trade processes into simple, transparent workflows. OCR and IDP were built for static formats. They break the moment data shifts. Our AI-native approach adapts in real time, making it the only sustainable path forward.”
OpenText divests eDOCS to NetDocuments for $163 million
Intelligent Document Processing provider OpenText has announced that it has agreed to sell its on-premise solution eDOCS, part of its Analytics portfolio, to NetDocuments for $163 million. With this transaction, which is expected to close in early 2026, OpenText intends to focus on expanding its core business, which centers on secure information management for AI. Tom Jenkins, Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer at OpenText, commented: “This divestiture further enables our continued focus on growing our core business centered on secure information management for AI. We will continue to enhance shareholder value by exploring portfolio-shaping opportunities that rationalize non-core assets from our product portfolio. This transaction supports our capital allocation framework while strengthening our focus on businesses that will drive our future revenue growth.” For Alan Pelz-Sharpe, Founder and Principal Analyst at Deep Analysis, the divestiture comes as no surprise: “I’m pretty confident in saying that this is just the first of many such divestitures, as OpenText has an extensive and sprawling portfolio of products that are no longer core to its mission but can find a welcome home elsewhere. So expect more of these to come over the coming months. From our perspective, this clear-out is long overdue, and we hope that it will not only be a thorough clean-up but also generate enough revenue, allowing OpenText to refocus on its core business and thrive again.” Read his full take here.
