What we cover in this week’s recap:
🗞️News:
Retarus introduces a new model architecture for its IDP solution
Intelligent Document Processing provider Retarus has introduced a new model architecture for its IDP solution, aimed at improving complex, document-heavy supply chain operations for global enterprises. The new, AI-powered architecture replaces multiple single-purpose models with a centralized Large Language Model based on Mistral Small (24B parameters), enabling capture of diverse document types while complying with strict European data sovereignty standards. The enhanced IDP solution recognizes and structures intricate order data such as line items with variants, partial quantities, and size details, automatically splitting “subline items” so downstream ERP and supply chain systems receive complete, high-quality data. This reduces manual corrections, prevents process interruptions, and pairs seamlessly with existing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) setups to push extracted information directly into ERP environments. A key capability of the new architecture is “instant learning,” where the system continuously learns from documents in production rather than waiting for dedicated retraining cycles. Martin Hager, Founder and CEO of Retarus, explained: “With the new IDP architecture, we’re giving customers a solid foundation to expand automation projects rapidly and flexibly to new use cases. By relying on sovereign, European AI infrastructure, we ensure a future-proof solution that meets the most demanding requirements in terms of performance and precision. This enables companies to streamline processes across the entire supply chain in an era of rapid market change.”
Box announces general availability of Box Extract
The Intelligent Content Cloud Box has launched Box Extract into general availability as part of its Intelligent Content Management platform, offering AI-powered extraction that turns unstructured enterprise content into structured metadata stored directly in Box. Instead of simply pulling raw text, Box Extract breaks documents into components—paragraphs, tables, charts—and allows teams to create custom Extract Agents tuned to their specific use cases. These agents save extracted fields as custom metadata in Box, which can then drive dashboards and views, end‑to‑end workflow automation via Box Relay (and later Box Automate), faster content discovery, and integrations with systems like Databricks and Snowflake. Aaron Levie, Co-Founder and CEO of Box, explained: “Enterprises are sitting on a gold mine of data in their untapped content. With Box Extract, that information is now unlocked and can transform how businesses analyze information and make decisions. By turning unstructured content into structured, usable data, organizations can deliver real-world impact by having their content actively work for them across their most important lines of business.”
