IDP vendor Rossum introduces Aurora with its proprietary LLM

With Rossum Aurora, the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor unveils its latest IDP platform with its proprietary Large Language Model (LLM), which has been trained specifically on transactional business documents, hence the name Transactional Large Language Model (T-LLM). With this approach, Rossum Aurora aims to eliminate the hallucinations that often occur with third-party LLMs.

Rossum, an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor, announced February 27 that it has launched Rossum Aurora, its next-generation AI engine for transactional documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and purchase orders. With this, Rossum Aurora aims to revolutionize document understanding and streamline automation end-to-end.

The Transactional Large Language Model (T-LLM) built by Rossum was trained on one of the world’s largest datasets in the industry, its own DocILE (Document Information Localization and Extraction), resulting in “human-level accuracy with enterprise-grade safety”, according to the IDP vendor.

Albane Flamant, Director of Product Marketing at Rossum, explained further: “When it comes to transactional document automation, there is no time for chatting to your documents or crafting complex prompts, no space for Gen AI hallucinations and data leaks. Documents need to be handled accurately, quickly and safely across the journey – from data capture to discrepancy communication – which is just not possible to achieve when using 3rd party LLMs.”

Tomas Gogar, Co-Founder and CEO at Rossum, commented: “In 2017, we revolutionized the IDP market by introducing the first template-free platform. Today, we’re primed to replicate this success with the launch of our specialized Transactional Large Language Model. After two years of meticulous development, it’s ready to elevate learning speed, accuracy, and automation to unprecedented levels across the Rossum client base. We expect the industry to broadly adopt this approach in the coming year.”

Last November, Rossum was named a Market Leader by analyst firm HFS Research in its HFS Horizons: Intelligent Document Processing Products, 2023 report. Rossum was also recognized with the 2023 Innovation Award by analyst firm Deep Analysis.

Based in London and Prague, Rossum is an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor offering Rossum Aurora, a transactional document automation platform based on its proprietary Transactional Large Language Model (T-LLM), which enables high accuracy and efficiency in document processing.
