Planet AI, an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendor, announced on April 9, 2025, that it has launched the latest version (5.3) of Intelligent Document Analysis (IDA), its AI-powered document processing platform. Key features include IDA Understanding, a new invoice module and a redesigned IDA Client.

IDA 5.3 introduces IDA Understanding, a module that uses LLMs to extract information contained in documents that needs to be derived from context. In addition, this release also introduces a new Invoice module for layout-agnostic data extraction, as well as a redesigned IDA client for simplified batch processing.
Last year, the IDP vendor announced – after the IT services provider Bechtle acquired a majority stake in Planet AI in October 2023 – that it was expanding its presence in Rostock to establish Bechtle’s AI innovation hub.
